Massey 255 bushhogging position issues

I have a Massey ferguson 255 and a three point six and a half foot bush hog and whenever I go over a hill the bush hog just digs into the ground. Now I no to use the position lever instead of the draft lever but when the draft lever is all the way up should I be able to control the bush hog with just the position lever. Thanks,

that"s correct the draft lever needs to be in the full up position ,draft is for plows and other draft implements when it is used the position control has to be in the full up position, the position control will enable the lift to be set at any position as long as the draft lever is in the full up position,some lifts were available with a pressure control that used the position lever to control both,if yours has there pressure range on the lever guide just use it in the position part of the travel,2 things that will help with your bush-hog hitting the ground on uneven ground is to use a tail wheel and a floating top link hookup on the on the bush-hog these will allow it to follow the contours ground better
