MF 210 Starting Problem

My daughter has a Massey-Ferguson 210 that would not start this spring. She used a booster battery and it started right off. Purchased a new battery and installed it and still would not start but would start with a booster battery. She wants me to look at it in the morning to try and find the problem. What should I look for or check to see where the problem is?

Clean the battery cable clamps on the inside. The battery and the cables can get a kind of film on them that limits electrical output. The tractor may have been starting with a boost because it made a better contact on the outside of the battery clamps.

Forgot to mention to check the ground connection. Don't know if the boost went to the battery or part of the tractor.

Thank You for your help. The problem was as you said, the positive post was not making connection. I cleaned up the cable and post and replaced the bolt. Started right up. Thanks again.
