massey 50 with scoop...

hey guys, when using my Massey 50 with a rear King Kutter dirt scoop, how do I put downward pressure on the 3 point to use the scoop to dig soil?? It just seems to float along the surface.

Hi Mike, 3 pt's are not designed with downward
pressure. The implement does the "work" If you
are pulling the scoop, then shorten the top link.
Or if you are pushing backward then lengthen the
top link. In rare cases you may need to add some
weight(sand bag or) Chuck

if the ground is too hard for the tool to dig.

you may need another tool, you can not have enough tools.

sometimes you can pull a sub soiler (single point) through the area you want to move the earth.
the sub soiler will loosen up the ground and the scooper should work much better.
guess if you have a plow you could pull the plow and break up the ground some.

anything to loosen the soil, in loose soil the scooper will load up fast.

they are slow, but take your time you can move a lot of dirt.

@@@@@******if you go backwards into the dirt:
I would recommend you use stabilizer bars on each side of the lift arms.

when you back into the hard dirt, the scoop goes to one side. at this time you place a lot of side stress on your lower arms and belly attachment bolts.

If you broke or bent one of your lift arms or worst yet, break off one of the hitch bolts under the tractor that the lift arms attach too,

(that would make for a very bad day)
just a heads up!!!
