MF35 Front End Alignment... ???

My MF35 has a little alignment issue. Seems my Dad's ride through the ditch got something out of alignment and the left front tire is looking a little pigeon-toed (only about 5 degrees). Do I try to find which adjustment got "tweaked" or is it ok to just loosen and adjust that big ol' connecting rod? Nothing looks bent or out of place and it drives ok, it is just scuffing that left front tire a bit. I suspect the "king pin" twisted a little in the connection (but I'm not 100% sure)...

It's not rocket science it all depends on what you
want to achieve. You do want a little toed in maybe
1/8 to 1/4 " just make it until your happy.

Your problem is not an unusual one. The early front ends did have trouble in the spindle housing area, if the front pivot bush or pin was let go too long once worn out. This allows the axle beam to "lay back", putting excessive pressure on the wheel bearings and spindle housings. The steering wheel may also tend to have a mind of it's own when turning it close to full lock.
I have a 35 here in the workshop for repairs at the moment,(not steering related though), and it's a classic case of a bent spindle housing, (see pic).
The owner has even gone to the trouble of fitting steering "dampers" left and right to absorb the savageness of the steering.
This may be your problem if the shock load was enough to bend the spindle housing, just a thought,

I didn't think to look at the actual spindle housing... I'll take a look at it tonight and see if I can tell if it's bent...

Spindle housing is not bent as far as I can tell... I guess I'm an idiot... It was the way (and place) that I parked... I just put it on the concrete and it looks ok.... Sorry for the false alarm...
