im going over this morning to look at what a friend of mine says is a massey 204 built in 1963, i havent even heard of this model, the problem is he is replacing the spindle bushings in the front axle, and he says there is something solid down the axle tube and he cant figure out how to remove the lower bushing, im used to working on ford, the older massey fergusons 20's and 30's, and farmall, the tractor parts to the left here doesnt even list a 204 [ i was looking for a bushing set to see just what was supposed to be there] any help? is there even a model 204?

My 202, a z134 gas is the diff... takes MF35 front end parts... his 204??? might? take that or MF50 steering parts, I just don't know enough about that model- can you post pics of it?

204 is listed under tractor parts at left. Shows the spindle bushings.
204 is an industrial tractor, along with the 202, 203, and 205 in the series.
Quite likely it will be painted yellow?

Hi Eric, These were in a "series" 202-203-204-205
The 202 was a Cont gas(choice of single or double
clutch) 203 was diesel with choice of single or
double clutch, the 204 was Cont gas with torque
convertor(or instant reverse)The 205 was diesel
with torque convertor(or called instant reverse)
The first 204 was s/n 340,001 and up. These were
hardworking excellent tractors. Chuck

I also own a 204,a 1959 model, the solid piece your friend is referring too is probably the hydraulic pump drive shaft, The pivot pin is hollow and the driveshaft goes through the center. The shaft is screwed into the crank flange with reverse thread. Use a shaft of appropriate size with a key and a nut welded onto it to remove driveshaft.

i went to look at this thing ,its yellow, with a matching front end loader on it, the tag is missing, what he's doing is replacing the spindle bushings in the front axle, he didnt know which way the old ones had to come out, after looking, they have to both come out the top, there is a flange about 1/2 inch up from the bottom, which im assuming retains either a seal of a small bearing, his were all gone, this flange would prevent the bushing from being drivin in or out from the bottom, am i right?
