It is my understanding that only the very first of the 101 jr's. had the screen grill and I think the numbers are very low by comparison. The started out with a 124 Continental, graduated to a 140 then finished up with the same 162 engine that came in the jr's replacement, the 30. If that is true, the majority if not all the screen grille 101 jr's would have the 124 or the 140 possibly. I do not know the production numbers, but that should be easily obtainable information. Probably didn't help you out any, did I....

Hopefully there is someone reading that has real and factual information as I have wondered this very same thought myself.

Thanks for the info massey man. According to serial number mine is a 1941!! It has the screened grille, cast rear wheels! It has the clam shell fenders on it but got the flat top fenders with it!!! It also has the wavy from center on front wheels (as dose my 1938 101)!!! Not sure of the motor but am sure it is the 140 cu in!!! Just cant seem to find production figures or info on it!!!

The Continental engine info will be on an aluminum tag the opposite side from the carb. It'll identify the cu. in. by the number stamped in as 124, 140 or 162. I'll dig out an old Massey data book tomorrow and see what's there...if anything specific I'll let you know.
