I got my granddads 44special running after sitting for 10 years. He told me the hydraulic pump was out of it. I put some 10wt oil in the tank and everything seemed ok. When I checked the crankcase I found out what he meant. I bought a salvaged pump and after a month it too started leaking back through the shaft seal. In the repair manual it talks about adjusting the valve body at top and bottom, but it is so worn out it is always calling for pressure. Does anyone rebuild the valve bodies?
