Will the cylinder head from the 150 fit onto the 35, both are the 3.152 engines, my problem is that the steering drag link on the 150 rubs against the exhaust manifold of the 35 engine that I put in it, the exhaust manifolds dont interchange, but im wondering if the cylinder head will? --- any ideas

The answer is ....yes it can be made to fit. I just did the opposite swap last week. the problem is the direct injection engine has 3 extra stud holes along the outside of the camshaft galley. These have to be blocked off by using the threaded part of the old studs, cut so as it fits slightly below the top of the block surface. I cut a slot in the top of the stud so I could screw it in with a screwdriver. Fit them in there with bearing and stud lock and use a 35/ indirect type gasket.
BUT......in your case you will need to drill the 3 stud holes and tap them. should be easy enough to do, if you set the head on first and use a full size drill to mark the centres in your block then drop down a few sizes to the correct size for the tap....biggest problem will be the filings. It is really a job for a machine shop but it can be done if you are careful.
Good luck

You may run into problems with the 35 engine being an indirect injection engine, and the 150 head not having pre-combustion chambers. May need to fit pistons with the toroidal cavity? Higher compression ratios? I dunno, help me here.....someone?

That is correct, Masseynut. I was too tired to think last night when I posted. pistons and conrods have to be changed also....conrods are different lengths and pistons have a swirl bowl in the direct injection engine and flat top on the indirect.

Thanks for the responce guys, still scratching my head trying to figure out what I'm going to do, I guess the simplest thing to do would be to make an exhaust header as thats all I need is an exhaust manifold that works with the steering arm.
