MF oil filters

need oil filters for my MF 255 and also MF35 gas.
Went to the MF (AGCO) dealer and he couldn't find the correct filter type for the MF 35.
What is a good quality oil filter?
Are the AGCO oil filters OK?.
I can get Fram at TSC; are they OK?
Thanks in advance.

Your dealer couldn't find the oil filter for your Massey?

If your MF 35 is a gas engine:
835817M91

If your MF 35 is a Perkins diesel:
1851766M1

If you have a 4-Cyl Standard 23C diesel, I couldn't find the number.

If your 255 is a Perkins Gas:
1447048M1

If your 255 is a Perkins Diesel: (AD-236)
1447048M1

If your 255 is a Perkins Diesel: (AD-203)
1447082M1

If your dealer couldn't find these numbers from agcopartsbooks.com or in Epsilon, then a) the parts guy is suffering from a ID-10-T error on his computer or he just doesn't want your business.

Most NAPA stores will be able to cross reference the Massey numbers usually. Sometimes its best to go to a manufacturer and use their chart to get a number so the automotive stores have something to go by.

I got all this information from agcopartsbooks.com. If you get bored and want to see if the numbers are good/get an estimate on price, use jackssmallengines.com. YT also may sell the filters and my understanding the prices are very reasonable.

Hope this helps,

Thanks so much.
The agcopartsbook.com is very helpful - first time I have used it.
Still trying to figure out the
Massey Ferguson Epsilon

My 236( in a 180) and 3 cyl (in a 30B) both use a spin on, which is the same as a 2006 3L Ranger. Walmart has it in a fram for under $3.00.

Welcome buddy. If you're in Ohio I would recommend Lowe and Young in Wooster, Ohio. Or, Mayer Farm Equipment in Jeffersonville, Ohio. Mayer is my servicing dealer and has taken great care of me.

NAPA has the filters, and their website even allows you to pick tractors like a car... First menu item is type of vehicle. Select tractor.

Only way I would use a Fram is if for some reason I was stranded in a car somewhere with a blown or fell off filter, and the only place I could get to only had Fram I would use one long enough to get me somewhere.. After losing a freshly rebuilt motor in 1993 due to an oil filter issue I have used only 1 or 2 ever since. Their reputation around automotive circles isn't the best, thats for sure.. Fram is for filters like McDonalds is for hamburgers.. A massive presence, lots of advertising, and long history doesn't mean the product is is worth a damn....

Gee Bub, I just gave the a filter reference for
assistance......really didn t need the drama, maybe
I;ll just not bother tryin to help anyone and
continue on under my rock I guess.
