Massey ferguson ball joint help

I am needing the ball joint at the end of my steering cylinder I have ordered two and they are both the wrong size taper. The threads that go into the cylinder shaft are right but the tapered part of the ball joint is too small. I have looked all over the cylinder for numbers and all i found was the number 73. I have a 1977 245 Massey with the single steering cylinder, if anyone can help i would appreciate it.

Has the original ball joint been left loose for some time before it was removed for replacement? Could it be that the tapered seat is elongated from the tie-rod flogging around in the mounting bracket?
Were the two replacements identical in the dimensions of the taper? were they original AGCO or aftermarket parts?
What is the country of manufacture of the 245? I can only find tractors with dual cylinders fitted?

Let us know,
regards,
Evan.

look it up for a 230, FIL has one with the single steering cylinder on the left side after a couple of tries we found one from A&I products #A-1851618M2,245 is basically the same tractor
