44 Massey Harris throttle lever.

I believe that the early 44's had them down low, then up, then back down for later ones. My 1951 has it down by the seat.

47 to 1950?were notched levers by the steering wheel,1950?to the specials were down by seat.Specials & on were friction type on steering wheel again. This was on gas, diesels were always?? by the steering wheel. Most all back then were changed over to the upper point after a few years,so that is not a accurate way to check what year.

The only thing more confusing than trying to determine the year of a 44 by the throttle is trying to tell the year by the seat post type :-(

1947 to mid 1949 they are up by the steering wheel with notches. The mid 1949 to mid 1951 they are by the seat. The mid 1951 to 1952 had friction. The specials and 444 all had friction. A lot of the early model tractors have been changed to friction due to the cables on early tractors binding or stretching in the tube they moved in.
