Our 285 is having some issues with steering. The steering motor is leaking up the shaft, and I think the pump may be going out again also. (been replaced 2x) How hard are the motors to tear apart and rebuild, or can they be, or where (other than AGCO) can they be had?
I thought someone posted a link a while back but I've been unsucessful in finding it.
After starting it for the 1st time this year, the steering is good for 5-10 seconds, then sounds like the pump is starving. Dad said he checked the fluid level and it's near the top.
The pump can be had for around $330-350, but I'm gonna do some diagnostics first before pulling everything apart. I guess it's a good thing we're not gonna be out in the fields for another month yet...
