Another 'look what followed me home ma'... pet project.
Fenders are good swapping material for some other brand... only this broke is the long pin holes, only thing missing is the jet fighter, only thing I can't find is bronze paint... or a hue I would call 'bronze'...
how or where can I research or see a chart on this paint? What is under the grey... i would call...'clay', 'cause that is what the name of my vinal siding is... I sure is is time and dirt, but I need a direction to look, thanx mates

looks good,
if my old tractor had that much paint on it, I would not be looking for paint codes.

I would be looking for the plow, time to turn some dirt.

good find,

Fine lookin' unit there Tony. I have always (well as long as I've been into tractors) liked the look of the 50.

Oh I wasn't drinking then, but I am now. I type in sypher to weed out spammers and confound my ememies.
Yes, I did say 'this' insted of thing... I'm dislexic at the best of times... and I learned how to spell in Canada, so that's more points against moi...
Hey I don't know what that hood ornanment is suppose to be, so I call it a 'jet fighter'... popular item on cars at the same time span... I presume this was way before the MF triangle badge... my '59 MF 50 has a jet fighter....

And you are going to luuuuuuv the looks of that Standard diesel smoke screen device in your yard... I thought the F40 was ugly... this is so ugly she's cute! What I am amazed at... she steers like it had power... with the same rod and post affair as the 40... that can barely turn with 2 men and a boy! So I assume the steering on the 40 is messed up, kind of a nice suprise..

Thank you Massey H! That's exactly what I was looking for! My search engine- I use Bing, didn't come up with any sites like that.
Sam thinks I am drunk... but he doesn't know Rustoleum makes 2 hues of bronze...and I am too cheap to buy both...
What is under the cheesey grey is- not what I imagined MH bronze to look like, why I mentioned the color of my vinal siding. Like my F40, someone took the time to maticuluosly cover over ever trace of -easy to find- original paint.

Dang Toooneee what a sells pitch!! A bronze bellied MH50! And you didn't tell us what you paid for it!Now you too can mow the ski slopes!

You still alive?? I thought you were skiing at Sant Moritz with Ursula Adrus or somethin.
No I'm not going to tell you how much, only because you asked. Hate to say it, but I didn't have enough cash on me except for a decent deposit. I think she is worth killing the piggy bank for. We'll say I wasn't intending to pay anymore than he was asking, but I feel good I got the straight royal flush already.
People on here were looking for a Standard gas expert.... I was thinking of you... on the slopes...like the guy on the dos equis beer commercial... drink easy my freind.

That 40 was on a trailer and headed for the scrap yard when George rescued it.... I am surprised everything wasn't rusted solid on it. Looking at the pictures, it has come along way.

That is a nice looking 50. Whats up with that valve cover breather pipe though, it doesn't look like its in the right position.
Is the original generator still on it with the tach drive? Its seems most 50s I come across someone has stuck an alternator on it which disables the tach and I have to starting searching for a generator.

Just started that 40 this noontime, fired right up, sounded nice, only went in a straight line, so didn't have to curse the steering. I did curse the 5 point hitch mower still hanging on the back...
I have a junker MF50, if push comes to shove, the steering from both can make one I hope. AND if that don't do the trick, I have bits and pieces of a power steering unit off a 65 a YT/ford feller junked... I wouldn't have minded having the whole tractor, sometimes yer lucky, sonetimes you ain't....
Thinking back the biggest PITA on the 40 was the leaky lower hitch pin, biggest expense was the seat cushions! 107 bucks? never again... I think this 50 will get an oil change and do the bushogging straight off. Oh, it needs a seat cushion....@#$%

That could only mean you paid to much, saw a 135 on cl for 1900, almost made the call.Good luck with it, yeah I been real busy cleaning up 15 acres out in the country that i acquired after my brother passed away back in November.Probably will need your advise on what all i'll need to cut hay off it, all I ever do is cut grass with my tractors.

Maybe we can do a group buy on seat cushions. I have a set on my 35, but missing on the 85. I was hoping to find a set at a show this summer.

Tony,

We use the Rustoleum on everything!! We are currently restoring a MH 22K and it is getting a first coat of rattle can Rustoleum Professional Safety Red. Almost a perfect match to the PPG paint we use for the final coat. Great to paint the small parts and lay them aside. Everything will get the PPG before assembly. Rustoleum rattle can is nice for some minor touch ups too.

Nice pic Dan. I think the shade helps. The other pics I found of 50's have a very copper look, this one looks like what is under the grey on mine.
So Massey H !!! Which Rustoleum do you recommend???

I have not found that happy match in rattle can Rustoleum for the MH Bronze!! However the pic Dan posted is right on. I know that tractor and if you saw in in person you would believe as well. The crazy numbers keep changing but I can get the numbers for what Larry used on that MH 50. I also have a computer generated match for the bronze done by a guy in Ohio that is just about as correct as you would want. Numbers are old but I am sure a good paint supplier could mix it up!

Still looking for that rattle can solution!!
