need help with gear selection to get 5 mph MF 175/31

I have a MF31 which is the industrial clone of a 175. Need help to select proper gear to achieve 5 mph ground speed while turning the pto at 540rpm. It has the 3 forward geared tranny. Being an industrial it has 16.9-24 inch tires. I will be broadcast seeding with it. I sold the tractor that used to do the job so this the first time doing it with the 31.

Aside from an actual speed chart saying otherwise.... High 1st is probably your closest bet.

if you have a gps you can use the speed indicator to check your ground speed,used mine several times with good results

Thanks for the reply. I figured it out thru trial error while using the spreader. 5th gear at 1200 rpm worked best and my lbs per acre was right on.
