i have a massey 135 when i release the clutch it is making noise but cant tell where the noise is coming from the noise is only when the clutch is out and is constant whether it is in gear or out but seems to go away at idle any ideas

Throw out bearing. Another 3 day project for a 3 dollar part. But, while you are that far, a new clutch disc and pilot bearing are worth the time and money, cause the effort(split) is already done.

thank you i thought that might be it but was told it could be counter shaft but seems to me like there would be a warning sign of that i shut tractor off for a few mins and when i started it back up the noise was there

I'd say it's an input shaft bearing. A clutch release bearing will only rumble when your foot is on the peddle. Any oil leaks around the clutch bellhousing at all?

Gidday Evan... the trouble is a language barrier...'pilot bearing' IS 'input shaft bearing'.... and 'in or out' thing with the foot pedal also depends on the northern or southern hemisphere... like flushing a toilet... rotation... thing
