yes as soon as the snow melts around them I will get complete tractor pictures, as these are factory tractors and nothing has been changed as you guys are presuming. as I said I can tell the diff between them from across the yard and you guys are telling me there is no difference in the two models. I saw this difference since being in junior high school. plus I have 3 specials here and they are all identical original tractors. one being owned by my uncle since new, and the other one by a neighbour. ya, being told factory spec's state otherwise ??? maybe somebody cant read the spec's properly??? yep. everyone has an opinion even if its wrong. sure funny how everyone in Canada knows the specials are a longer wheelbase than the straight 44 and down south there they refuse to believe there is a difference. I have never seen a straight 44 being the same wheelbase as the 44 special, so I don't know where your info is coming from.
my pictures will be worth 2 thousand words, so wasting my time even typing this. why don't you's that say they are the same post your picture's also?

When you talk WB,then my 333WF is longer and looks(bigger) longer sitting side by side with my 333 Standard but the frames are the same just the way the front axle is mounted. If all the specials were longer, then why aren't the triples any longer then my 1947 44s.Plus 2 of my triples (standards)came out of Sask..Like my other post said, the 30 frames were drilled so 3 different engines could be put in them,so some 44s could have been built with the short frame. As far as your Canada vs US,Canada was export and there were a lot of different tractors built for export that we never saw or could even buy even tho they were all built in Racine.

So then my 44's and my 44 special, all with the same front casting . Right down to the part number must be all wrong.

1954 44 special, 1953 44, 1951 44, 1950 44 and 1949 44, all the same. Also the same tub as my two 55's, although the 55 tubs are machined differently at the mount pads for the engine.

1947 44 Shorter by about 6". best I can do with a tape measure by myself. Also same tub as my 30.

Cant we all just agree that these things left the factory in all sorts of configurations.

Cant tell you how many times I"ve been told my 1953 with cast wheels and hand clutch is a special. I finally painted the serial number on the engine silver so i could show that it was a H260. original engine, Grampa"s old tractor...
