"Everyone has an opinion, even if its wrong".This could as just as easily apply to the original poster. He has ONE tractor that is 15 inches shorter than ONE other tractor and he claims it is a factory difference! He has been told that factory specifications state otherwise. I have seen a 44 engine placed into a 30 tub bolted to a 44 rearend, with 44 decals and called a "44 Standard" so someone could get that tractor into the lighter class (with the shorter/lighter tub). How do we know (given the sample of ONE) that he doesn"t have a tractor that someone cobbled together many moons ago. Also, if you go back and read the first post on this subject, the OP is very vague about what models he is comparing. Is he talking Standards? Is he talking Row Crop? I rarely see Standard 44 tractors, so I naturally think "Row Crop". I can assure you 100% that there is no 15 inch difference in the wheelbase of a row crop "Special" versus a "44" (given the same frontend type). I also find it very suspicious that he only shows the driveshaft area as "proof" of the wheelbase difference. So why not show a wide shot of the tractors side by side, as we should all be able to discern a 15" difference in wheelbase...? Always the Skeptic, Goldsburg
