can a massey 44 motor be put in a massey 33 tractor?

I"m not positive, but I assume so. You may have to shorten or replace the jackshaft, and perhaps the radiator cowl. Let someone else pipe in who is more knowledgeable than myself.

yes it should drop right in if you use a 44 tailshaft. otherwise you may have to shorten the 33 tailshaft. the frames are the same, but the 33 block may be a little shorter.
