I have a back hoe built around an MF304 workbull with the instant reverse transmission. It works well but has a solid stream of oil coming out the bottom whenever it"s running. I"m pretty sure the seal around the back of the torque converter must be shot and was doing some reading earlier in the week and the manual indicates that this leak can happen if the (non serviceable) babbit bearing in the front of the pump gets damaged. I bought the machine with a "recently rebuilt" engine and I"m wondering if the pump was damaged during engine installation. The local dealers want ~$750 for a pump but I see them online in a couple of places for closer to ~$300. Are the cheaper pumps OK or just cheap? Any other advice before I split it to fix? Thanks, Sam
