Hi On a 165 i had, I assume yours might be similar. The splines stripped in the yoke that goes on to the shaft that drops down through to the steering arm, under the front casting. The pinch bolts will appear tight but the force on the wheels moves it a little with worn or a loose top / bottom arm. This gave me more turn one way than the other. The shaft and top and bottom arms have splines and Masters in from memory. It should not be possible to put them together out of sinc if yours is the same. At the time I could not afford the work needed to repair all my components. In the end I centered all the steering in the front casting, then welded the top to the shaft. It could be the bottom one maybe too, you will have to take it apart to check these if this is the same system. I don't recommend this welding fix, if that's the problem, but have seen a few like it in sales in the past.
Hope this might help
Regards Robert

Robert, Thanks for the info. I will remove all the arms and check the spline situation. In moving the steering back and forth, I cannot see any movement on the shafts, but that is with the front end up and no load on the front axle. Thanks again for the help, Jim.
