MF 165 Original Oil Filter on Perkins 203

Decided to change the oil and filter today on my recently purchased 165...picked up a filter (cartridge type) at the local auto parts that cross referenced for a "MF 165 Diesel".....knew it was too short and too fat, but took it since I've been wrong a few times before in my life....but was right this time....my filter is about 3 inches in diameter and about 6 inches tall...took the old one back to the auto parts store, but no luck...no numbers on old filter...so I need help. I've researched on the internet and on Ebay...find numerous part numbers for MF 165 oil filters (cartridge type). Does anyone know what was the original Massey part number for my small oil filter??

look up agco parts book online search under guest user you should be able to find the number

Perkins 203 should be fitted with one that is 4 1/2" long and 3" in diameter.
Yours sounds like the one fitted to many of the petrol models. It measures 6" long, 2 7/8" in diuameter and it's inner opening is about 1 5/16". Perkins number for this filter is 26540055, M.F. number is 1882 916M91. Hope this helps,

Thanks Evan...went down and measured it and you're right it's only 4 1/2" long...do you also have the number for this one...for the 203?

This one can be Perkins part number 26540132, 28540218 or 32527. Massey numbers are 1851766M1, 1883258M91, 837595M91 or 894975M91.
