Thinking about buying a MF85, early model with the 223 engine. I have the early TO35 Standard and am looking for something with live power and power steering.

Do the 85"s have any issues I should be looking out for?

engine parts are expensive and hydraulics are a bit slow for a fel. I had one, took the loader off of it and put it on a mh30. then sold the 85

Thank you Matt.
This one doesn't have a loader, got a MF40 with loader. Looking to use it for plowing, pulling trailers and maybe logs out of the woods.

You sure got interesting things out your way. I wonder where the MF dealer was years ago, his neighborhood might be loaded with stuff. I live a half mile from where a HF/MF dealer was in the 50's and 60's.... he must have starved! I am surrounded by farmalls...
The engine from the 202 I got in Wales is trying to go on the diesel's back end... those #$%^^&&* splines! Murphy's law again, 2 clutch plates...3 day job...

This one is coming right out of service. It's from a 1 tractor = 1 implement guy. Everything is MF at his place for what I can see.

Tony, I bet people go by your place, and think YOU are the Ferguson dealer for that area...LOL

I think I found what an other F40 or MH50. Don't know as the tin is missing and haven't gotten close to it yet. In an overgrown field that is now brush and pickers.....big pickers and thick. I have a realtor friend finding out who owns the land to try getting permission to go look at it. Maybe they will gift it to me in exchange for some brush hogging.

Sounds like it won"t see hard work, if that"s the case it should be fine. The tractor I had was a high arch. Have an eye on the air intake pipe, as they will rub through and dust out the engine.
