Is this the correct way to do this? IT manual says remove nut then pulley, then press out shaft. I have had this sitting the last couple of days and it is still tight. What do I need to do?

Hi Scott,
First of all I', not familiar with the 44 but I have got 30 years of experience operating a 50 ton press. DON'T put any pressure on the housing until you can support it more fully. The corner lugs are likely to snap off very easily. If the manual says 'press' then it will probably mean that you will have to put some pressure on the shaft. If you can, make up whatever you need to support the housing. It won't be wasted time.

Hi, First the outer bearing cage has got to come
off(the top thin cast iron cage). Then there will
be a snap ring p/n 14363a(Brg to cage)Also a snap
ring on the inside of the housing p/n 22087X.Cant
remember if both need to come off but likely.IT
not always that complete.
