I have a 1964 approx ,3 cylinder diesel MF 35. The gear box has got jammed in reverse. What to do is my question.

Hi John, Simply remove the oil filler cap by the
gearshift levers. Use a small bar to reline the
shifter forks to center. If tractor not on level
be sure to lock brakes for safety. You are then
good to go. Chuck

Thank you for your advice. I got a friend and togather (mostly Him) we are now in operation. He pushed the big gear forward and stood on the clutch whilst I eased the gear stick back. It then poped out. Good to know guys like you are around to help. Regards John

John, Glad you got it going. Just a bit of advice
would be if you can shift in a straight line, into
neutral, then straight over and into the next
gear rather than "slide" thru. I could describe
better in person? Chuck

if your problem keeps reoccuring unless i'm mistaken on the models, there is a piece of 1/4"x 1" flat metal that acts as the stop for the shift rails, it will wear through allowing the rail to travel to far, allowing the shifter to slide out of the slot and hang up ,replaced several over the years only bad part is transmission has to be split

Chuck41 has the right idea, and I have also been told by folks on this site that a slight downward pressure on the shifter while shifting will prevent it from happening. It hasn"t happened to me since I started applying pressure.

Same thing with me a friend removed the plate surrounding the gear stick and with a screw driver fiddled a bit and bigo back in business
