MF 230 Fan Direction

Just got my water pump radiator and fan to put my 230 back together and had a question. I don't remember which way the fan blades were when I took off the old one. How do you tell which way to mount the fan? I know I'm having a (as my daddy would have said) A "ALL HAMMERS MOMENT". Someone please give me a clue.Thanks.

Do you still have the old fanblade, if so look at the center. Rear hub side should have no paint while front bolt side will, except where bolt lockwashers were.

The fan blades on ag engines are set up to "pull" air thru the radiator from the outside, where-as many industrial set-ups are designed to "push" air from the engine bay thru the radiator to the outside. Check the direction of rotation and fit the blades accordingly,
Evan.

The fan will pull air toward the engine regardless of which side you mount to the hub.

However, one way moves more air if your blades are curved or cupped.

Mount the "valley" of the cup toward the engine or the "dome" of the cup toward the radiator if you can make sense of my wording.
