Hello, my Dad is restoring a Ferguson TO 35, 1955 vintage. He is trying to find out the original color of the metal dish seat. He is thinking the tractors underpart color was a deep green and then the seat and lights and fenders, etc. were a light gray color, but he isn't sure, and wants to do it like it was when new. Anyway, the reason I'm posting is he is pretty much illiterate when it comes to computers! Anyway if you can give him any help it would sure be appreciated. A picture would also be great! Thanks!

If you can open this site, it shows a 1955 Fergy TO-35 being restored.

The seat is painted the same gray color as the hood and fenders, the body was painted green.

I have a 1957 Fergy TO-35 is was painted cream color: hood, fenders and seat, the body of the tractor was painted grey.

Fergy folks must have been on the stuff back then: as it seemed they painted each year a different color.

I just pressure washed the seat of my 55 TO35 today. And yes there is light grey under all the others. Seems the castings were green that year, and anything sheet metal was gray. I was wondering about the seat hinge, but that was gray too. I guess this tractor was a big hit that year, they made thousands, and there are still thousands out there...

Here are some photos of a brand new Ferguson with only 7/10ths of an hour on the clock, it has never been used nor painted. The seat bucket is grey but the bracket is green. The fender brackets/frames are also green. My photo are not great as I was taking pics for my own restorations and was only looking for what was zinc plated or NOT painted! I can post more pics if you like.

Ps the tractor is in the showroom/store of Wengers of Meyerstown PA

Thanks so much for all of your replies. Samn40, the pics are great. Where is Meyerstown exactly? We are located in Sidman, PA, which is close to Johnstown.

Alan, Myersown is between Harrisburg and Reading or Johnstown on the 422 about 175 miles from you.

I just checked my seat again, when scraped down to metal, the pan is gray, the hinge and spring's original paint is green, as in Sam's picture. Someone took great pains to make this one red and grey.

Hi I'm Andy in Montana, I have all the color schemes for Fergusion tractors. In 1955 it is the same color as mine, I have a 1955 Harry Fergusion the color scheme is the castings were a Green METALIC (M-1013), I don't like the metalic in the paint and have gone to a dark forest green. the motor covers and fenders are a Fergusion light gray.
I have a complete color guide for every thinf from the castings to the hood and fenders from 1900's to 1057 when massy made the hood red. I hope this helps
