Pulley for Alternator Conversion

Hello Gentlemen,
I am in the process of converting my 48 MH44 from 6 to 12 volts. I purchased a new Delco Remy alternator, but the pulleys on the tractor are for a wider flat belt. Is there a way to replace the pulley on the Alternator with a wider one to accomodate the belt? Thanks for your input.

Yeah the easiest way is with an impact wrench, just squeeze the belt around the pulley and turn ccw with impact. Mine kept squeelling and I had to order a 5/8 pulley off ebay.

Most of the time you can take the pulley off the generator and put it on the alternator.
