mf 85 hydraulics 3pt issues

hey guys, picked up mf 85 in the fall, finishing up 1st service. when i got tractor lift arms didnt work, owner said tractor sat for long time in the barn(years) but lift arms worked when it went in. power steering works perfect and pto works fine. when i lower and raise lever(for 3pt arms) i dont feel much tension or pressure, also i can manually lift the arms to full height and they also feel like there is no pressure behind them.
i have tried to do adjustment that are in the book w/ no luck. it feels like the pump is just not pushing fluid. i will post a picture tomorrow, but when you look down at the pump there does seem to be alot of turbulence around the piston area. i can see the actuator moving the piston left and right. i only have about 7 gallons of the 11 in,but unit didnt work prior w/ full fluids, original fluids where very milky which were flushed and then replaced again. when i drained the front plug off of p.s. brain i got pure water out for a bit then fluids. but again all power steering is working fine. seems like very hard to service pump in tractor does it have to be split to service? thanks for input.

I would drain it and fill it with some diesel and maybe a little oil......you might have a dirty valve.

would rather try that before I had to split it if you do......look at my thread about the power steering pump under yours.....see if you had same type screen on end of your pump like I do
me working in the shop on the 85

The power steering is unrelated to the lift except that they share the same fluid. It drains in three places. I didn'see you mention that. If it is equipped with remotes as most of them were the left remote lever needs to be back for the threepoint to work. There is also a thumbwheel under the seat which can be closed to hold the threepoint up when using the remote. This valve must be screwed out or open to use the quadrant to control the threepoint. Good luck. The turbulence around your pump concerns me.

yeah we worked w/ shut off valve and controls on side w/ no luck, also had flushed w/ some diesel to try and remove any stuff around pump and put in new strainer. just seems like something is not allowing to pump or is just not pumping.
