I'm painting my tractor and was curious if the front rims are supposed to but solid red or red & silver. I see a lot of the red & silver but I don't think it's original color .

i looked at a number of pictures of used 165's that were for sale.

I do not know what color they were when new, but it looks like it's a 50/50 toss as some had silver wheel rings and other were solid red.

i think the silver ring on the wheel looks better as it matches the silver wheel ring of the rear tire. But that is just me.

just knock yourself out and paint them however makes you feel best. any paint is better than rusty wheels.

I painted my rear rims and grill panels silver mist metallic today. I bought 1 new front rim from Massey Ferguson. It is completely silver. Ill make up my mind tomorrow. I guess.
Thanks for the input.

Please post up some pics before and after. I'll probably have to make the same decision this summer. I feel the MF Gray is a little dark. Gives it a mean low hot rod look in one context but instincts say it should be a lighter Silver or Rustoleum Metalic Alum color. I think all red might be too much red. Mine is not a restoration but why do the job twice...
