MH 33 hydraulics hookup to pull type disc

Recently bought a pull type disc with hyd assist.
I need to know which ports to use off of the
hydraulic cylinder. There is one "on top" and
looks like two coming off the left side,
horizontally.
My dad had a hookup to raise/lower a combine
platform, but I can"t remember which ports were
used. So which ports are used in such a case?

Also, I bought some quick connects, to use, but
the male end of the hose goes into the qc with
great difficulty. Do I need to replace the male
ends of the hose with the ones that came with the
QC, or should they "just work"?

The quick connects will be difficult to connect if there is hydraulic pressure in the hoses. On an older tractor it's best to shut down the engine and hold the control lever in each direction for a few seconds to bleed off the pressure before disconnecting.

If there is no pressure then change out the male ends with the new ones. It will only take a couple of minutes.

On my 33, I tapped into the ports on the side of the cylinder control, and that worked just fine for me, BUT.. I have saw where guys have used the "top" port, and one on the side.. I don't know that there is a "right" way.. I can take a picture of mine and post it, if you'd like..

As for the hoses being hard to hook up, you will have that when they are under pressure...

BUT... A friend of mine is a parts man for a C-IH dealer, and he now buys female fittings that are easy to connect under pressure.. They are a bit pricey, but after seeing how they work, I'm going to invest in a couple sets of them.. I can try to get you a part number if you'd like also.

thanks for the info.
hopefully my problem is just pressure.
It"ll take me a while to try this out again.

I would be interested in that part number.
