Old Massey in Afghanistan

I deployed to Afghanistan a couple years ago as a computer technician. On the compound where I worked just behind my "office" was a short dead end alley with a sad looking little tractor (I would be a sad little tractor too if I was driven by the Afghan locals as they were not nice to it.) It was a MASSEY! I cant remember what model just that it was red and silver and the size of a Ferguson to-20. The seat was gone as well as the hood and it was pretty beat up but I think it could have still run had a little attention been payed to it.
I had wanted to work on it but I didnt think the officers would take kindly to a soldier spending his free time nursing a tractor back to health so I let it sit.
The little massey sat there for the majority of the deployment until one day I came to work and it was gone. Sadly it was probably shoved in some garbage pit and buried. What a shame.

a good example of what a global company Massey was.
they're literally everywhere.
sad to see so many good companies "managed" into the ground over the years.

Another good reason enlisted men should ignore officers. If Sam was there, he'd find a big enough dufflebag to fit it in. did you ever think that thing got some fresh gas and a new battery, and went back to work? Hopefully not in someone's poppy patch!!

You should be stoned!! No just kidding I can tell your conscous is already bothering you enough.I once refused orders and was up for an article 15, feeling I was right I refused that and found I was up for a court martial, quickly took the 15 back.

David, yes.
2, you sound like you need a 3 d flashback. You and Sam can be... Walrus Team 6! Get a Chuck Norris headband, Rambo knife and can of ether, Sam can wear a red beret, carry a loaded multi tool/bottle opener.. rescue that tractor from the jaws of ... waste.
Call the mission 'finding O Fergie Ben Massey'!!!
Just don't let it roll off the side of the ship huh????

The thought that a little gas and a battery did cross my mind... But then I would spend the next hour trying to figure out how to squeeze it into my bag and bring it home.

Naaa, I ain't into flying. Like this guy usta say at work " I don't wanta get no higher than pulling corn and no lower than diggin taters."
