last fall i looked 3 massey fergusson-35,s. the owner seems to want to sell as a pakage deal. $3000. for the 3. he is a bit difficult to deal with as he doesnt know or wont say much about them. one has a knock in the motor he says. it a diesel. the other two are serial no-SNW 236188. and serial SGM 172751 one is gas the other also a perkins diesel. they ate not siezed, claims they were running when parked. any thoughts as to walk away or take another look?

Brian, A $1,000 for a MF-35 (diesel or gas) that isn't seized up is a good deal. It would sure be nice to be able inspect the tractors to verify that the engines are turning over freely and whether the diesels are 23c or Perkins.

i was looking at a ford 600 couple years back and the batt was stone dead and the owner wanted me just to take the tractor with the promise that it ran great before the batt died. he wanted 2k for it so i walked. i just cant deal with difficult sellers. if he wont atleast let you put a wrench on the motors to turn the crank tell him you wont go over 1500. trust me no one else is gonna fork 3k for those machines not knowing.

if you live where it gets cold try to see if there is anti freeze in the radiators. if no AF run away.

yes the owner is away rite now he gets back i can do more. i turned them over they are not siezed. i dont know the difference between a perkins diesel or a 23c? these were i believe 3 cyl diesels. thank a lot for the info. how can you tell if a tractor has multi-power?

If I found three 35 that were all there for 3 grand I would not waste any time worrying about whether they run or not. Load them up and get them home before someone else nabs them up. You could part them out and double your money or tinker with them and get them running down the road.

Standards are always the 4's, Perkins in this model is always a 3. A multipower had a switch low in the dash, with a chrome plate with a slit in it, kinda above your right foot. Depends on what you want don't it. 3 grand can get you one nice 135, but 3 projects sounds like Christmas don't it?
