Well, I have checked the PCV valve and lines, no blockage, engine runs well, does not smoke. Oil will fly out of dipstick if removed when running. Just changed the rear oil seal which was leaking, I assume from excessive pressure. Relatively few hours on engine, all light duty work. Any suggestions, what is next. Would really like not to be putting in new pistons and sleeves. Only 1,000 hours on engine and well cared for. I am assuming rings never seated tight.

The last time I had that was on a MF2244crawler. Perkins 152 diesel. The guy I bought it from took out the dipstick and sealed it with a clamped tube stuffed with a quarter inch bolt to keep from blowing oil out. Tearing it down revealed three pistons with busted lands due from starting with ether.

Broken rings or a burned/cracked piston? Have you run a compression test?

Thank you both for the suggestions. I did have not run a compression test at this point because this engine ren so well, smooth eand easy starting in cold weather, it did not occur to me there might even be an issue. I will pursue that

could be blown head gasket forcing the compression into the crankcase though a drain port in the block, but im not familiar with the engine in that.
