Topic: Anybody ever install the updated rear seal in a 277?

  Just asking if anyone has any experience installing updated seal kit in a 277 engine. I have it bolted up, but not ready yet to fill the square holes in the filler block. Talks about making a tool and using candlewick packing along with national oil seal cement. |

| Clean block and cap with thinner, then fill grooves with RTV until you see it ooze out at cap parting surface. |

| I bought a new set of side seals, they are hidden somewhere in my shop. I ended up filling the grooves with permatex. |

| Done a few, always re-used the old side seals with sealer, they seem to do the job. Figured if I had to I would use wick seal packing and a punch. |
