Can the Hyd taps on the PTO lever plate used for a loader?

On my165 there are what look to be two hydraulic fittings that are connected by a small loop of tubing. On my quadrant I have a option to select constant pumping and adjust the pressure from high to low. Can theses taps be used to drive the loader?

If so, then I would think that I can eliminate the selector valves that are under the seat and when I want to use the loader I can just select constant pumping on the quadrant. When I want the 3PT I just use the quadrant as designed.

It seems the only change would be that when I put the QD hoses onto the taps there would be no loop when the loader is not on the tractor.

Is that a problem?

Am I thinking about that correctly?

These two connections are from your auxillary pump and have absolutely nothing to do with the hyd quadrant. The aux pump is constant running and constant power, but not very big in output. You can run a spool valve from the power/outlet side of this looped pipe, but you must discard the pipe and put the return flow from the spools into the other inlet, thus completing the circuit again. These spools are adequate for running light duty rams like lifting trailed disc wheels or turning over a reversible plough.
To get good power and speed from a loader you need to combine BOTH pumps. to do this you need a high flow rate spool valve and an isolator valve on the lift cover, where your spools are now. You plumb a hose with a non return valve from this isolator and a hose with a non return valve fom the outlet on the PTO selector plate, into a 'T' piece on the input side of your spool valve...one large hose will suffice from the spool valve to the return port on the PTO plate. In normal operation your spools will be live when the tractor is running and will not affect the quadrant operation, but if you need hyd power for heavy lifting you switch over your isolator valve, thus locking the 3 point and put your quadrant position lever to 'Constant pumping' with the draft lever to fully raised position. You now will have real good power and flow for your loader.
This might sound like a lot of work...but you will be glad afterwards!

Beginner question. Are spool valves the same type as are referred to in the manual as control valves?

The tractor in the configuration I purchased it in could have been sold as a "valve delivery device". I'm going to use it very lightly, mowing pastures, moving dirt/rocks etc and all of the valves in the various positions are just complicating the issues. The loader is 235 quick disconnect with a set of control valves mounted on it and I have a dual control body under the seat. With 4 values and my low usage requirements, I hope I can get by without adding another valve. I want to leave the loader off the tractor until I need it, retaining the QD hyd lines.

That being said, is there anyway to accomplish what you are suggesting without adding a valve and still being able to easily disconnect the loader?
