Hey TONY thats what started my trip into tractor restoration.Used the tractor for the summer then the first snow fall I use it to clear the driveway .I heard a really rattle coming from top engine so I shut it down.I called a friend he said it maybe just carbon build-up on top of pistons so I pulled the head and the pistons were pretty clean, the only thing I could see is #2 piston was a little shiny like cresent moon where it had hit the head. Next the oil pan I did'nt see anything until I rotaded the crank, it was a tiny little crack as I moved it further I could see it was broken.I called a couple of places and they wanted $2800 to $4600 plus the cost of crank to rebuild,if they could find a crank. Well needing the tractor I learned how to use the internet and ordered the rebuild kit with crank fromYT. When I ran into some problems?questions the guys at YT told me about the massey forums, wish I new about them sooner might have saved a lot of mistakes!!! Oh well live to learn

So Matt! Did you get parts thru YT here? Do they ship to Canada now? Or is Alberta now part of the states?? ... yikes, that's not good either...
My crank was slightly bent, so another 50 bucks when turned down... but that was because of the inserts riding on top of each other.
$4,600? Four thousand... six hundred ....dollars????? !!!!!! Yep, you're still in Canada alright...
but then again, $1000 to 1500 in parts, 100 an hour in a classy shop... taking a man most part of a week... I suppose...

Tony I got the parts from YT then had them sent to a broker in sweetgrass Montanna. Its about 3hr round trip from my place.Just bought tune-up parts points, cond, plugs, cap and rotor for $83. I see on the site for $24 or so.Carb kit was $44 and no new throttle shaft. Napa says they can't get the right kit. Inno suggested sparex in edmonton I'll give them a call. BTW

I want to open a repair shop and motel in Sweetgrass, and another in Milk River.... immagine breaking down there? Or getting stranded at the border for paperwork? What a lonesome place to be in a pickle...
