Brake drum removal

My MF 202 brakes are almost nonexistent. I have been delaying this job because I understand the drums could create a very stubborn removal
Any words of wisdom?

Hi,
As far as I am aware the drums are of the same type as agricultural tractors but being an industrial may have dual shoes. With the screws removed you will see two 7/16unc tapped holes between the wheel studs. Remove two of the bolts that hold the steering box down and fit these to the drum. If the drum moves all well and good. If it shows any tightness apply light screw pressure and tap the drum with a soft hammer on the outside halfway between the bolts. You are trying to get the drum to 'rock' a little. Follow up with the screws and it should soon come off. Clean the seating area in the drum and the axle shaft and apply some copper grease before refitting. If you have dual brakes anmd need any more help I can guide you through the stripping and overhaul.
