MF 1085 Splitting

Morning all. Ineed a little help.
I'm in the process of splitting a MF 1085 to fix the PTO brake issue.
We disconnected everything, tilted the cab, blocked the front and have the rolling jackunder the back end. We unbolted the housing and have it seperated about 3/4". But the tracor wont roll anymore. Its like it slipped into gear when we tilted the cab.
I last split this tractor about 15 years ago. I cant remember what we did to disconnect the shifting linkage internally? What else can we do?
Thanks Grant

Hello Grant,
In all probability you have not disconnected the hydraulic flexible pump which runs from the front port of the auxillary pump forwards.
It is attached to the aux pump by a banjo bolt and may require a spanner to be bent to fit it.
Do not put any more pressure on trying to seperate the two halves. The pipe has a semi circular rear end. Make sure that this has not been flattened.
Have you removed the hydraulic cover? If not, you will need to to gain access to the pipe.

Thsnks David,
I removed the banjo fitting - then with a lot of wiggling we rolled it back.

Once appart we could see the brake band was broken. We then took the side cover and top cover off and removed the pieces from fron to back until we got the clutch pack with the brake out. A lot of work for a small part. I will go order it tomorrow.

Thanks, Grant
