confusing Hyd problem

I'm having a confusing Hyd problem and could use some help.

I have no draft control on the quadrant. The only way I can get the 3pt to move is by moving the HYD selector (the one under the seat) from neutral to the back position. In the forward position it switches the HYD to the loader. Its a dual control valve with only one side plumbed. Somewhere the two are connected because the unplumbed valve will move back to neutral when the other valve is operated if under load.
When the valve is held back the 3pt will rise until I move back to neutral. It will hold position fairly well until any one of the valves is moved including the loader controls. The quick fix is to disconnect the loader hoses and move the 3pt into position with the valve. Quadrant position still seems to have no effect.

When operating the loader (valve in forward position) the 3pt will rise to max position before the loader will move.

Any suggestions on where to begin looking?

On my 165 to use the remotes {loader on your tractor} my right valve must be in middle position. To use my 3 point i must tie the right lever back, using the draft or position lever to raise or lower. Your tractor may differ. david

That is interesting because the PO had a bungee cord tying the lever back to use the loader?
Why do you have to tie it back?

Oil is coming to the bottom of the valve the right lever directs it to the 3 point piston. The left direct it to the remotes. Both valves in center means oil goes nowhere. david

When you say you have no draft control, do you have the position control in the raised position to use it?. To get the position to work on the 100 series the draft must be all the way up, to get draft to work the position must be in the raised position but not necessarily in the fully raised position, as you can use the position lever to set height above ground, so that heavy drive implements like a rotary hoe do not have too great an angle on the power shaft when raised at the end rigs. Different selector valves have different controls, but in general they either divert the oil to the remotes or to the internal main lift ram.

I guess I meant to say position control and draft control don't work.
Can't be 100% sure that I've tried it with draft all the way up and position control in raised position. I assume that if I have draft all the way up and move the position control the 3PT should move as I move the position lever?
