I found this problem when rebuilding mine. I didnt pick the discrepancy til I was trying to figure out why the oil holes did not align with the slots in the rockers. MF book had it correct. IT was backward. When I disassembled mine, they had followed the IT. Fortunately they didnt run it long enough to cause a problem. Sorry you got bit by this.
