How far should the intake valves be recessed into the head on a Continental HD 277 four cylinder motor? Thank you, Dennis Kerr |

| Not real sure what you are asking, The intakes are fairly flat and set down fairly tight in the seats, but should not be down below the surface. The exhaust valves do set up in the combustion chambers quite a bit higher than the intakes. Depending on what you are using the tractor for, if you can get a good seat or seal it should run ok, or else get new seats installed. I just noticed you have a diesel head, I'm talking a gas engine, haven't had a 277 diesel apart in a long time. |
