Need your help!

Hello,

I"m needing help in two areas........

First, I am looking for original photos of MH tractors made for the military. I"m part of the way through restoring an I-244 and cannot find where the MH and military ID markings go. Any pics would help!

Second, I need to step down part of the electrical system from 24v to 12v. The headlights, work light etc that I have are 12v and I need to drop the voltage to them. Any ideas? All I can find in resisters are big and I don"t think they will work.

Thanks in advance for your help.....

Just put the two lamps in series across the 24v lead from the light switch. Putting an unbalanced load across one battery in a two battery (series) set will cause the other battery to fail prematurely (excess charging current flowing through it that it does not require). Note that the two lamps need to be identical in wattage, and preferably in make/model. Otherwise, one lamp will have a shortened life.

you could score some 24v bulbs. an electrical contractor supply house should be able to get them, if they don't already stock them. they're likely not much more expensive either

Dear Mr. DeBruhl,

If you Google "Massey Harris I-244" you will find several pic of the tractor. I can probably help you a little. I have one. I have all the tags that go on the tractor but just waiting to repaint it first. There is also a nicely restored 244 with a magnet near me as well. Let me know if you need any help.

Thanks

Gary
