MF175 will not start

Need advice to start a diesel MF175..The tractor was running well..I stopped it to remove the cab and it will not restart..the engine turns over but it will not start...I removed the stop level cable but I have made sure that the stop lever on the pump is completely ccw and the throttle was held in half position(suggestion from DavidP). I am assuming that my problem is fuel related. I slightly loosen the compression bolts on top of the injectors and turned over the engine, fuel leaked out but not with any pressure as the engine was turning over. Can I loosen these bolts completely... Also I replaced the primary fuel filter(it had not been replaced in ages)..Do I need to bleed the fuel system now...What else should I look at to resolve this frustrating problem..Thks..Ray

If you change the fuel filter you MUST bleed the system. The Owner's Manual outlines this well. Another option is to pull start it with another tractor(unless it has Multi-Power), 3rd High is good. You "might" have an air leak in the fuel line connections also. Hope you get it running!

I agree with mf1. Whenever you open up the fuel system on a diesel you need to prime the system when done.

you have got air in the system when you changed the filter, bleed as follows on top of the filter housing there is a bolt best i remember it takes a 1/2 wench to loosen it open it up a round or so pump the primer handle on the fuel lift pump until fuel without air comes out, tighten the bolt do this for each filter if it has 2 ,starting with the primary if it has 2 ,you may have to turn the engine a little to get the pump arm to the bottom of the cam lobe so the hand primer to work,once you get the filters bleed open the bleeder screw on the side of the injector pump, pump primer pump until no air is in the fuel close that bleeder screw, open the one on top bleed it the same then close it,loosen at least 3 injector lines at the injectors,put throttle in the wide open position, fuel shut off in the start position, try starting the engine when the first one of the injectors drips fuel stop turning tighten that line ,turn it over again tighten the next one that drips,turn it again it will more the likely start even though the line has not been tightened shut it off tighten the last your good to go,DON'T ALLOW THE FUEL COMMING FROM THE INJECTOR LINES TO CONTACT YOU IT'S UNDER AT LEAST 2500 PSI AND CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURIES
