Jerru W 11-28-2012 19:28:45 198.228.228.145 Report to Moderator	Last year put both the new clutch plates in and adjusted according to the book. Also put a new rear seal in. However, no matter what I adjust can not get the pto to run any equipment as it slips. The ground drive works not sure if this makes any difference. Wondering if you have any ideas to help resolve this problem. I am thinking maybe it is the Bellville spring or the pressure plate next to it. [Reply]   [No Email]

Either the PTO pressure plate and/or the "false" flywheel are probably dished because of heat distortion. If you remove and disassemble the clutch, rest a straight edge across both plates, and see if the faces are perfectly flat. Chances are that you will see "daylight" towards the inner edge of both plates. This result means that you will only have the drive plate sandwiched on the outer edge of the plate when in the engaged position. DO NOT try to re-claim the plates by machining, as this will decrease the clamping tension on the drive plate, and upset the ability to adjust the clutch as well. If these plates show signs of having been hot at some stage, I would also replace the belleville spring at the same time. Heat has probably weakened it as well. hope this helps, Evan.
