MH44 head gasket thickness

The head gasket on my MH44 is seeping out on the manifold side. The block and head were planed, and the counter bore was recut for the sleeves. They do portrude a little above the head. I have re-torqued the head

Is there a brand of head gasket that is thicker? I put in a NAPA last time.

David, I stoped my 44 from seeping about seven years ago with a jar of Barsleak, It hasnt leaked a drop of anti freez since. It is worth a try. __________Harold

The sleeves stand out or up two to three thousands if there correct. Do you have a little anti-freeze leaking or combustion pressure?? Get er good and hot, pull the rocker shaft and re-torque to 140 Ft. Lbs.If you resurfaced the block and head you may have run out of threads on the studs, maybe throw another washer under those nuts. It's been my experience no matter where you buy it you are going to get a Victor head gasket, it's a thick, stiff old devil and needs to be heated and re-torqued,book says 130 to 140. If it's just a little coolant seep, re-torque and throw a can of stop leak in it. I'm working on the engine in my puller right now, I can't keep the studs and nuts from stripping and holding torque. Installing new studs and looking for taller nuts, I had them double nutted last time, it's a warmed up 260, good luck.
