opinions on MF 135

I am lookng at a 135 gas 3 cylinder perkins. Runs good looks good, good tires, has been sitting inside for awhile.(bad gas) I am familiar with 165 and 180 models, and like them, but have never been around the 135. Anything in the way of weak spots to look at? Is the perkins gas going to be hard to get parts for when they will be needed? Thanks in advance.

The 135 like the rest of the MF 100/1000 are fantastic tractors. The Perkins Gas is essentially the same engine as the diesel. They were used from 1968 - through the end of production and in some cases side by side with the Z145 by 1975.

I don"t see parts availability for it being too bad. Odds and ends like wiring harness components might be obsolete but I"m more than happy to take measurements of mine to duplicate it.

MF 135 is probably the best tractor in it's size range ever built and the same goes for the 3 cylinder Perkins diesel engine. Solid, reliable with live and powerful hydraulics, live PTO, differential lock, good brakes and a great, easy starting engine.

Parts are easy to get, simply go to AGCO Parts Book on line, log in as a guest and use on-line facility to make a list of what you need and give it to your local dealer.

Neighbor has a gas one. Bought it new. Has over 6000 hours and is still going strong. Great little tractor. I was just over there yesterday looking at it.

The Perkins gas is a very good engine and was used in a lot of MF industrial equipment. The diesel is legendary but the gas version isn't far behind. If everything works properly, it's hard to beat a 135.

They run better when they are low riders in technicolor
