Is there a way to increase the relief setting at the pump? Also is there a filter inside the reservoir similair to a Ford system? Thanks in advance....Ron

Hi Ron,
The relief valve is set. Yes, there is a filter inside the reservoir. There are two sizes of filter so before ordering a new one measure the old one to be sure. Why do you want to increase the pressure?
If the PAS is not working properly it could of course be the pump but also you might be losing actuation of the spool due to wear in the pins, yoke or steering arm or anywhere else in the system. Have an assistant turn the steering wheel back and forth and examine all components closely particularly the main vertical shaft for wear in its bushes. Any lost movement will reduce efficiency.

David, Friends 165 has become harder to steer with a bale on the loader. Haven't seen the tractor yet but thinking the pump may be getting tired. Will check pressure. What should it be? Thanks again Ron. By any chance do you know a Carwin who does custom farm work, spreading manure and such?

Hello Roy,
No, don't know of him. Normally harder steering or harder steering in one direction is down to wear leading to reduced actuation of the spool.
