44-6,s were built from 1947-51,they used a 226 cu in Continental engine same as in the 101 Senior,6,657 were built, there is no such thing as a 444-6. |

| this is funny because i'm looking at the same model tractors right now. The 444 had a Massey Harris 4 cyl engine, live pto and hyd along with a 10 speed trans. The 44-6 had five speed trans no live pto or live hyd, and had a six cyl flat head (226 cubic inch) continental engine. they do sound great. I was told that the engine in the 444 (277cubic inch?) was also built by continental. I tring to decide which one to get! |

| To be precise, the 444 gas is a Continental H-277 and the diesel is a Continental HD-277. |
