There should be no bother. Iwent to see an old 65 diesel last week, it had been sitting in a field for 10 years.I never even thought to look at filters, I loosened the bleed screws on the injector pump and one injector line, pumped the hand primer and got diesel, then tightened the bleed screws but left the injector line loose, connected the booster cables to my SUV battery and it started like it had been used an hour before!. Iam of course speaking from the UK but our 230 had all the CAV296 filter, some pics of replacements above. On some models with only one filter we used the long filter in the first pic. Sam

So Sam, did you get the " so's last night I bought a me self a pair of tires with an iron thing betwixed 'em" line? Sounded like an Irish pub joke to me, so I didn't try to answer till re-reading it today.... it seems the man seriously needs a filter...

Tony, I got that one alright. I have been to plenty of Irish pubs and bought many iron things between rubber things, in fact some of them were bought in Irish pubs....big mistake...that even filters won't cure! It is difficult for me to fix 30 yr old tractors with a keyboard across a big stretch of salty water, but I do try!! Hope to see you in an Irish pub some day...If you get there first mines a Guinness.....I know , I know ...I will see if they stock Black Lable....! Sam
