Hi Can any one help me i have a MF 165 That my farther left me and it has a lot of sentimental value to me.
But i want to make it in to a 4WD .
Using a Four Wheel Traction Conversion kit with sandwich box.
Dose any one know were i can get a technical drawing or plan of the sandwich box witch includes all measurements so i can manufacture my own or know were i can obtain a new one.
As i have seen these on MF 240 which would be a fairly young tractor.
Thanks For Any Help Rors

Hi, I would agree with 165MF it would be that old. Thinking of making one? Don't!!!!! The casting and machining would be impossible to replicate. Only very limited numbers were made and probably many exported overseas.
Tractors which have a 4WD conversion are rare in ther own right and are appreciating in value.
There may be one around somewhere in the world but don't hold your breath!!!!!

My advice....Forget the 4 wheel traction axle! As others have said it is now old and difficult to find as it is collectable, Parts are non existent. Instead....if you can afford to.... Buy a complete 4 wheel drive 265 and swap the parts you need then sell the 265 as a 2 wheel drive tractor. That way you will not have to spend/loose much money in the change-over. This has to be for sentimental reasons or you would not start to it! But who am I to tell you any different?
Best of luck with your project....Sam
By the way, make sure you have ALL you need before selling the 265 as some internal shafts may be different!
